Menomena - Wet And Rusting (Live)

This band has me so excited. I have been listening to their new album, which is currently streaming at Barsuk. These lads are making amazing sounds, why isn't Friend and Foe getting a local release?

Good question - I actually ordered this album from Amazon.com 2 days ago, along with the new Apples in Stereo (New Magnetic Wonder) album.

I got an e-mail today saying they have now both shipped to me, so really looking forward to them. Menomena are excellent, love what I have heard already.

This band has me excited too. I ordered mine through red eye, and i think it'll be in next week. i was talkin to the store manager and by the looks of the orders, it looks like they're gonna ship more in. There seems to be quite a demand for the album here.

Adam- Hope you enjoy it, I agree with you, from what I have heard it sounds like one of the best releases for 2007.

Ro- I know you are a fan. Red Eye are good like that, hopefully they will have some more copies for the rest of us. I guess Menomena don't have much of a profile here, but it seems to be growing. Also new Apostle of Hustle, Do Make Say Think and Explosions in the Sky aren't far away.

Do you mind if I ask you (Ro) how much Red Eye charged you for the album (Menomena)? I got mine from Amazon.com (including postage) for $24.95 AUD, which is pretty darn good.

I am also getting the new Apples in Stereo album in the same package, which only cost (album) $16.75 AUD - awesome prices really.

I have bought at LEAST 25 albums alone on the strength of reputable blog reviews, etc in the past 12 months. I always back up the blog-hype I read with at least 1 or 2 other sources (AMG, other review sites, etc), but it is all music I would never know existed without Wayne's (and other) input - so, thanks!

Out of interest, did any other Aussie's (I am in OZ) order any of the Bishop Allen 12 EPs project this past year? I ordered them all, but am waiting on September through December to arrive - it was a fascinating project and there are some excellent songs scattered amongst the output.

I sometimes order from Amazon or Insound, but lately I prefer to order direct from the label. They seem to deliver quicker and it feels more personal. A great thing about shopping in the US is CD prices, many first release CDs go for $12-15. Makes our prices still look expensive. Also I still like to buy CDs in this file sharing age. How can small labels survive if nobody buys the CDs.

I was going to invest in the Bishop Allen series but never got round to it, great idea though.
And Adam, I will check out Michael Zapruder, thank YOU for the tip.
